From 2017 to 2019, I served as President of AIGA Atlanta, a Top 10 chapter with 600+ members within AIGA National, the largest professional association for design. In this role I led a large, dynamic board via monthly board meetings, and curated new and engaging programming to meet the professional needs of a growing, diverse membership.
To strengthen our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, we created a DEI Chair within the chapter, invited a DEI expert to lead a training workshop for all sitting board members, and increased our annual Fellow award recipients from 1 to 3 in order to recognize a more diverse slate of design contributors within our community.
On Saturday, November 18, 2017, our chapter hosted BIG NIGHT, a design gala and awards ceremony at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights to coincide with the 2017 Fellow Awards and to celebrate and thank our membership.
In 2019, AIGA Atlanta was selected as the host chapter for the annual AIGA National Leadership Retreat in Atlanta, Georgia.
